Order of Precedence
 Order of Precedence  

Order of Precedence is a sequential hierarchy of rank. In the SCA, this takes the form of recognition of awards received, the rank of the award and when the person received it.

In formal events, the Order of Precedence plays a part in how members of the SCA relate to each other. For example: in Crown tournament, combatants and their consorts are presented to the crown before the tournament in Order of Precedence.

In Atenveldt's Online order of precedence, a person need not have an award to be listed. With photos and devices from many of our populace, the OP works as a who's who in Atenveldt. Feel free to explore.

Atenveldt's award charters are also kept in the Order of Precedence.  An award charter is part of Kingdom Law that formally states all the information about the award.

Order of the Lynx of Atenveldt

Award Charter

In Anno Societatis L, during the Reign of Their Royal Majesties Casca and Melissa there was created an award known as the Order of the Lynx of Atenveldt.  Juliana la Caminante de Navarra and Arion the Falcon were created Co-Premiers of this Order on the 7th of November, Anno Societatis L, being 2015 in the Common Era.

I. There shall exist in the Kingdom of Atenveldt an award, known as the Lynx of Atenveldt, which may be given by the Crown to those persons who have demonstrated the virtues of the arte of defense with the rapier—Prudence, Audacity, Celerity, and Fortitude. These Gentles, having demonstrated good judgment; shown boldness and swiftness; and having exhibited courage both on and off the field, have excelled both in teaching and in their exceptional artistry of this weapons form.

II. The members of the Order shall be styled as Order of the Lynx of Atenveldt and shall be entitled to place the initials O.L.A. after their names.

III. The insignia of the Order shall consist of a stone of amber suspended from an Azure and Or cord, to be displayed suspended from the belt.

IV. Companions of the Order shall take precedence after Grants of Arms but before Principality Orders.

V. Amendments to this charter shall be made by the Crown of Atenveldt.

VI. The Principal and Protector of the Order shall be the Queen /Crown of Atenveldt.

VII. The membership in the Order of all previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.

Ardgal mac Ardgaile. Name and device. Or, a gurges azure, overall a mullet of eight points, a bordure vert. 

Benton Ivanovich. Name and device. Per chevron inverted gules and argent, in pale a mullet of eight points argent, charged with a mallet sable, and a polypus gules.
